Andrey Sitnik, Evil Martians. Creator of PostCSS, Nano ID, oklch.com and many other popular open-source projects.
How developers can make the internet they live in safer — and free of GDPR pop-ups.
We complain about censorship, cancel culture and surveillance. But we, developers, can change the situation. It's time to stop complaining and start building a free internet. In this talk Andrey, the creator of PostCSS and of an open-source privacy-focused social media reader, will show how to reverse this trend and give users back control over their personal data.
— Beginners will learn how to build websites without GDPR pop-ups.
— Experienced developers will get practical experience with the new Local First approach, where data is stored and processed on users' machines.
— With the seasoned ones, we'll talk about what American privacy advocates don't talk about.
